Trieste da molto tempo è in vetta alla classifica di due tristi primati: il numero di famiglie composte da UN solo componente ed il numero di suicidi. Una controversia logica che regola la surreale vita triestina. Negli ultimi dieci anni, seppur sia ancora da considerarsi grave la situazione, il fenomeno è andato visibilmente diminuendo; merito della prevenzione che dal 1996 è attiva sul territorio grazie soprattutto al Dipartimento di salute mentale. L’Istat rivela però che la nostra città è al 4° posto nazionale per numero di suicidi/ogni centomila abitanti. Il podio è composto da Vercelli (1°), Sondrio (2°) e Savona (3°). Inutile e triste dirlo, nel Friuli Venezia Giulia il capoluogo Giuliano non ha rivali: le altre provincie si attestano su valori equivalenti alla metà o poco via. Da rilevare inoltre come, nonostante Trieste abbia un indice di vecchiaia più alto sia rispetto a quello regionale sia a quello nazionale, il numero di suicidi è maggiore nella popolazione tra i 25 e i 44 anni. Dati alla mano c’è di che riflettere.

Il termine:” cos’tega de guardar?” ” la me ga ditto che stago ben chissa’ cossa la vol?!” e’ tipico nel ns frasario, basta uscire da Trieste e il mondo anche giovanile e’ molto piu’ aperto a nuove conoscenze ecc. Concordo con l’osservazione secondo cui per alcuni la vita sia un dono mentre per altri sia un bene di consumo, ma non credo che vi sia nessuno che la getti “a piacimento”. In alcuna delle accezioni del termine.
Vivere e’ maledettamente attraente (anche se a volte parecchio difficile) e, a mio avviso, chi decide di rinunciarvi ci sta dicendo che per lui era divenuta un fardello insopportabile (immagino che sia rispettoso ed opportuno togliere da questa ipotesi i casi di incapacita’ di intendere e di volere, anche se temporanea).
Un tanto ci conduce a riflettere sul fatto che se la nostra citta’ e’ incoerentemente ai vertici della “buona qualita’ di vita” ma anche ai vertici dei suicidi una delle due attribuzioni deve per forza essere sbagliata.
Rimane da vedere se si sbaglia chi si getta dalla finestra oppure chi sceglie i parametri su cui decretare la “buona qualita’” della vita degli altri, ma temo che questa sia una domanda retorica.
Concordo pienamente con le osservazioni fatte. La nostra città è chiusa in tutti i sensi, geograficamente e mentalmente. Non ci sono punti per socializzare ed è molto facile che una persona, anche giovane, rimanga sola. La solitudine purtroppo porta molti essere umani a perdere la fiducia in se stessi e a non trovare la forza per contrastare le avversità (naturali) della vita.
Per quanto riguarda il tema della qualità della vita di Trieste: facile è fare una classifica con i numeri, ma deve essere anche elaborata un’analisi sociologica. La percentuale degli anziani è altissima, questo porta sicuramente nei giovani alla rinuncia nella speranza di uno sviluppo sia socio-culturale che ecnomico.
